Helping my kids with their homework

Back in my day, I was actually a pretty solid student, and I like to think I’ve kept most of those brain cells intact as an adult. But man, helping my elementary school daughter with her homework has been a total reality check. I thought I’d breeze through basic math and English, yet here I am, getting a full-blown lesson from a third-grader. It’s a bit of a blow to the ego when your own kid has to explain the “new way” to do subtraction to you, but hey, apparently I’m back in school too.
