Having friends as an adult

Making friends as a kid on the playground felt so effortless compared to trying to find adults to connect with now. Since I’m not really into the bar scene, I’ve tried striking up casual conversations with people waiting in line at the store, but they usually just give me a strange look, as if asking why I’m even talking to them.
